Opportunity

Loyal quiz fiends love to binge quizzes, but the majority of BuzzFeed Quiz sessions end after 1 quiz complete. How can we nudge casual quiz-takers toward the habits of our superusers?

Hypothesis

If we offer a frictionless path into the next quiz, we’ll remove the obstacle of choice. We can entice quiz-takers to try it by promising them a reward for following this path.

Chaining quizzes together was one of the ideas to come out of a divergent team brainstorm in 2020. We felt that this concept was strong because it tied discrete quizzes together by building on the mental model of a queue/playlist, as presented by other platforms quiz-takers already use. Unlike most queues, it also offered a sense of endowed progress toward an end state. By completing your first quiz, you’ve already begun the journey toward your “meta-result”.
